Keikkalasku kulttuurin mahdollistajana - Yhteistyötä VISIO Festivaalin ja Radio Helsingin kanssa.
Nuutti Jaakkola - Keikkalaskun asiakas 20.9.2024
I work as a light entrepreneur in many different cultural sectors. I play DJ gigs, do food sales at festivals, write a radio show, produce events, and I also do freelance writing and restaurant work. Light entrepreneurship allows for a variety of work, and my brain, which needs stimulation, has liked the work tasks that change from week to week. When invoicing the hours themselves usually the hourly wage is also quite a lot higher.
My collaboration with Keikkalasku started with a radio program made possible by Keikkalasku and **Radio in Helsinki **which I was asked to co-host with my colleague Vincent Quednau. We started scripting a current affairs program with a focus on club music culture. The programme was tentatively made for eight episodes. We wanted to include a thematically appropriate guest in each episode. Guests included a long line of music influencers, artists, producers, shapers of the most interesting club concepts of the moment, CEOs, one chef and festival guests & producers.
The episodes heard a cross-section of the club music of the moment curated by us, discussed phenomena, history and the future. We separated the Finnish scene from the world scene and the club gig experiences from the festival gig experiences. We also got an interview with KINK for the show. We asked guests about their first DJ gigs, the evolution of club culture, future directions and dreams without forgetting a casual fling.
The radio show was a really fun project that Vincent and I enjoyed greatly, Thanks to Keikkalasku once again for making it possible. Although filling in Teosto reports on deadline day from the cottage without a working internet connection caused a little heartburn, the experience was unique and fun in every way.
Keikkalasku jumped to become the main collaborator of VISIO Festival. With a partnership, we achieved the coolest yard stage the festival has ever seen. The yard stage featured e.g. Mall Grab, Freakycent, Roberto Rodriguez and Kink. In my opinion, the collaboration was a no-brainer, because in the context of the festival it is really easy for both the employee and the employer to take advantage of light entrepreneurship. In many of the professional groups that I belong to myself, there are great advantages to self-billing. It reduces the costs and accounting of the employer and leaves the employee with greater freedom of action and more money in hand. Sending invoices per gig is also at least clearer to myself than a pay slip that arrives once a month.
I also performed at VISIO Festival as a DJ. The gig experience was one of the best I’ve played. Rig & Debug’s soundsystem and two MCs rapping over the songs I played. My gig also got 6 paragraphs worth of column space from an article in Rumba magazine.
Keikkalasku made my life a lot easier. Really cheap operating costs, a simple user interface and an email invoice help you stay on the cart easily, even if you have had several different assignments in a small amount of time. Also, the payment coming to the account the next day from the performance has felt good. I used to use another light entrepreneur service, but its operating costs were almost double that of the gig bill, so it was really smart to switch. I recommend the gig bill to everyone.
I feel smart when I use the services of Keikkalasku. Thank you Keikkalasku for saving my life.
